Morning visit to Old
Cairo, viewing the remains of the Roman Fortress of
Babylon, Ben Ezra Synagogue (dating back to the time
of Moses and earlier), the early Christian house of
worship, Saint Serguius Church and end the morning with
the Mosque of Amr Ilbn Al Ass. After lunch, we visit
the Cairo Egyptian Museum to view the famous Rosetta
stone, which enabled Champollion to find the key to
translate Egyptian hieroglyphics. The museum also contains
the treasures of Tutankhamun. |
